Service is quick and friendly, excellent value for money. Will definitely be back!

So much nicer than the meal we had recently when we had to order from the bar. We were pleased to hear that system was to be terminated.

I booked a private room for a lunch. I was given incorrect information about which menu we could choose - standard or Christmas menu. Which meant that we had to make a change in our choices a couple of days beforehand. Then when I arrived early as the host to check everything was alright I went to the room that I had booked to discover the room was empty. Guests arriving in ten minutes. Reception did not know that the room and been changed and there was a flurry of activity to find out what had happened. When we got to the dining room for which there is a room charge and a service charge, we were told that if we wanted any drinks other than wine we would have to go downstairs to the bar to order and collect our drinks. When the main course arrived about half of the courses were missing vegetables. We had to ask for them and after a little hesitation they did arri ve. No one checked to ensure that we had all we needed, for example we had to ask for butter to go with the bread. You very much felt that you were on a fast conveyor belt to get the courses through as quickly as possible. I am a lifetime member and it us the first time that I have brought guests to the club for a special occasion and to be honest I was embarrassed by the club. Then to add final insult to injury, when I paid the bill I was told that I would not be credited with any reward points as we had booked a function room. So, if you buy food and drink in the bar you get points, if you do the same but from the first or second floors you do not. With a total room charge and service charge of just under £100, I was not impressed by the club. This was a great disappointment as the club runs the bar area well. But I don't think that I will ever hire a dining room there again. I'm not a happy member and will try and speak to the general manager about this.

Always busy now but still good value for money.

It was a good place to meet a fellow colleague. He liked the beer Yardbird, which is allegedly made with American hops.

We had a fantastic evening

Great place. Very busy so I didn't get my particular reserved table (which was a bit big for a solo diner to be honest) happily found a smaller table and had the lamb shank. Great taste and good value.  Be marvellous If it wasn't all Greene King but can't really quibble.

The ales are well kept, a good range of wines and the food was well cooked, plentiful and good quality.  

Staff were very polite, helpful and attentive without being intrusive, despite being very busy.

Overall an excellent experience.
